Government websites hacked, DRDO to develop new OS

Government websites hacked, DRDO to develop new OS

Hard to believe, in the last three years, more than 1000 government websites have been hacked despite various security measures.
In order to secure the forces like Indian Army, Navy and the Air Force, a collective decision have been taken by the Union Ministries and the Ministries of Defense (MOD) to develop a indigenous operating system.

The new operating system is being developed in Bangalore by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) which will take at least 3 years complete. Simultaneously, another center in Delhi is also working on the project. Experts from top institutes like IISc and IIT have been roped into the project.

Will the new operating system developed indigenously match with feature rich Microsoft Windows and other major OS.
